Strength, Courage or Perfume

Thyme does not have a clear etymology, but each of the possible variants leads back to the properties of this magnificent plant. Typical of the Mediterranean area and the Balkans, it grows at any altitude, from 0 to 2000 meters on sea level.
It is an important plant, used since ancient times for propitiatory rites by Greeks and Romans, or as part of the mummification process in ancient Egypt.

In Sardinia

In Sardegna si trova una sottospecie endemica particolare, chiamata Thymus Herba Barona, conosciuta in sardo col nome di Armidda. La possiamo trovare soprattutto nel Supramonte, in minuti cespugli con foglie e fiori piccolissimi. A inizio estate la sua fioritura porta un profumo forte e inconfondibile.

Nutrirsi di salute

Condimento per eccellenza, trova un ampio impiego anche al di fuori della cucina in numerose preparazioni medicinali.
Dopo un’analisi gascromatografica, abbiamo riscontrato che il Timo da noi coltivato appartiene al chemiotipo timolo (CT Timolo), considerato dalla letteratura scientifica come il più “Severo”.

The chemical composition of the oils has been certified by gaschromatographic analyses by the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Technologies of the University of Turin.

They are produced and marketed by Funtanamenta as Natural Flavors for Food - Reg. CE 1334 / 2008-, respecting all safety and hygiene regulations and equipped with the HACCP self-control manual.
